Another August week and the European calendar is ramping up toward full season play, but we also have some MLS-Liga MX clashes in Concacaf Champions League and the Leagues Cup. Plus, keep an eye on more European qualifiers, as we learn which Americans will be competing in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League this season.

Let’s get into it! Here’s a snapshot of USMNT players in action. Injured players are highlighted in red, and dual-nationals in blue.

Tuesday

  • Slavia Prague v Ferencvaros, 1p: Henry Wingo and Ferencvaros are up 2-0 from the first leg as they travel to Prague for this Champions League qualifier.
  • Shakhtar Donetsk v Genk, 1:30p on Paramount+: Mark McKenzie and Genk trail Shakhtar 2-1 and will travel to Kyiv for the Champions League qualifying second leg.
  • Young Boys v CFR Cluj, 2:30p: Jordan Pefok and Young Boys return home already tied 1-1 in this Champions League qualifier.

  • Flora Tallinn v Omonia Nicosia, 12p: Mix Diskerud and Omonia take a thin 1-0 lead to their Europa League qualifier in Estonia.
  • Midtjylland v PSV Eindhoven, 2p on Paramount+: Richie Ledezma has taken his first steps back on the field, but he’ll be relying on his PSV teammates to continue Champions League qualifying with a 3-0 lead.
  • Mansfield Town v Preston North End, 2:45p: Matt Olosunde and his new club Preston are have first round Carabao cup action.
  • Rangers v Malmö FF, 3p: Romain Gall has been sent back to Malmö by Örebro, where he had been loaned. Malmö are up 2-1 in Champions League qualifying as they travel to Glasgow.
  • Sporting KC v Club León, 8p on ESPN2, TUDN, fuboTV: Tim Melia and SKC take on the Guardianes 2020 champions in Leagues Cup action.
  • Seattle Sounders v Tigres UANL, 10p on ESPN2, TUDN, fuboTV: Cristian Roldan and the Sounders take on the 2019 Clausura champions, also in the Leagues Cup.

Wednesday

  • Nottingham Forest v Bradford City, 2:45p: Ethan Horvath and Alex Mighten could see action for Forest in the Carabao cup.
  • Chelsea FC v Villarreal, 3p on CBS Sports, TUDN, Univision, Paramount+, fuboTV: Christian Pulisic and Chelsea contest the UEFA Super Cup at Windsor Park in Belfast. Could Matt Miazga also be involved for the Blues?

Also in action:

  • Leyton Orient v QPR, 2:45p on ESPN+: Charlie Kelman and Andre Dozzell get the QPR season started in the Carabao cup.
  • NYCFC v Pumas UNAM, 8p on TUDN, ESPN+, fuboTV: NYCFC trio James Sands, Keaton Parks, and Alfredo Morales take on Pumas and US winger Sebastian Saucedo in the Leagues Cup.

Thursday

  • St. Johnstone v Galatasaray, 2p: DeAndre Yedlin and Galatasaray are tied 1-1 in this Europa qualifying matchup.
  • Aberdeen v Breidablik, 2:45p: Hot-scoring Christian Ramirez and Aberdeen lead this Conference League qualifier 3-2.
  • HB Torshavn v Maccabi Haifa, 2:45p: Josh Cohen and Haifa carry a whopping 7-2 advantage into this Conference League qualifier.
  • Orlando City v Santos Laguna, 7p: Daryl Dike may get another shot at Mexican opposition if he’s fit for this Leagues Cup match, along with Chris Mueller and Andrés Perea.
  • Club América v Philadelphia Union, 10p on FS1, TUDN, fuboTV: Philly’s young Americans Leon Flach, Anthony Fontana, Paxten Aaronson, Jack McGlynn, and Quinn Sullivan get a taste of Estadio Azteca in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League semifinal. The younger Aaronson scored a nice goal past Matt Turner over the weekend.

  • Atlético San Luis v Necaxa, 10p on TUDN.com, fuboTV: Ventura Alvarado has left San Luis, but FC Dallas academy product David Rodriguez is still on the books, and he’ll be facing two US-eligible players in winger Alex Zendejas and defensive mid Fernando Arce in Liga MX matchday 4.
