Where will he land next?

It’s been a interesting season for Perry Kitchen at Hearts.

He went from team captain to a player that fell out of favor with the current manager who was hired in December. According to Edinburgh Evening News he was stripped of his captaincy when new signing Christophe Berra arrived, though apparently Kitchen knew this was going to happen.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder is now in the market for a new club. Here’s what his manager had to say about the ordeal and changes at Hearts.

“That’s something for us, naturally he’s not had a great time personally having not been in the side as often as any player would have liked but that’s a personal thing,” said manager Ian Cathro. “These are things that happen as a team evolves, as a team grows and moves on. This is a natural thing and we all move forward. It’s important that the [captain’s] role is a more constant role and it’s also important that we have a number of players who live their lives like that.”

There are a few reports that Kitchen has some potential suitors, but nothing concrete. A return to the MLS is possible, where he wouldn’t be forced to go through allocation. Though Kitchen would rather play abroad then come back to the United States. The defensive midfielder collected 4 assists in 35 matches across all competitions this season.
