Could Christian Pulisic somehow be involved in the biggest transfer saga of the summer?

The talk around the soccer world current revolves around Barcelona’s mega star, Neymar. Strong reports link him with a move to Ligue 1 powerhouse, PSG, as soon as this coming week. They have triggered his astronomical release clause and the Brazilian has to make up his mind whether to stay or go.

Barcelona have their eyes set on a replacement already, in the form of another Brazilian star, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. According to The Mirror, Coutinho is very hungry to make the jump to Spain and join Lionel Messi. They also report that if that does happen, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will attempt to lure everyone’s favorite American phenom, Christian Pulisic, to Anfield has his replacement.

Oh, what a tangled web we’ve stumbled upon here. There’s a more than solid chance that this is all speculation. However, it’s not the craziest of scenarios if you think about it. Liverpool losing one of their top players will have them very motivated to bring in someone with talent. Klopp and Liverpool have been linked to Pulisic several times over the last year and a half.

The last time these sort of rumors emerged was in November when Coutinho sustained an injury. Reports said that Liverpool could look to bring in Pulisic, who was valued at around $31 million at the time, to replace him.

What does all this mean? It means that the transfer window could get very interesting if Neymar decides to leave Barcelona. It could also mean, that nothing happens at all. What a fun time to speculate! Discuss among yourselves.
