It seemed inevitable that Christian Pulisic’s name would pop up in transfer rumors this season. We we’re not letdown as once again speculation emerged that Liverpool were setting their sights on the American if/when they sell Philippe Coutinho, who is subject of strong interest from Barcelona.
Despite the loud noises about him leaving the Bundesliga, Pulisic tells SportBild he’s heard those same rumors but he’s loving life at Borussia Dortmund and has no plans of moving anywhere anytime soon.
"Yes, I read that too. What more can I say? I concentrate fully on the start of the season.
"I'm very happy in Dortmund. I do not think about a club change. I extended my contract until the beginning of the year until 2020." — Christian Pulisic; Source: SportBild
It’s looking increasingly likely that the Hershey, PA native will be a vital part of Dortmund’s plans this season. Which is crazy to think about since he’s still only 18 years old. Ousmane Dembele is currently in a highly-publicized spat with management over his proposed move to Barcelona. Meanwhile, Marco Reus and Andre Schurrle are battling injuries. Pressure will be on Pulisic’s shoulders to build off a very good 2016-17 season.
