According to the Nottingham Post, Scottish Premier League side Motherwell FC are looking to sign American winger Gboly Ariyibi from Nottingham Forest of the EFL Championship. He has been on loan there since January, with the club impressed enough to attempt to make a permanent move for the United States youth international.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson told the Nottingham Post, “[we’re] desperately trying to keep him and negotiating with [Nottingham] Forest. We’ve got a lot of players to sign and we’re actively trying to do that.”

The 24-year-old Ariyibi joined Forest in 2017 but has yet to make an appearance for the club. He has spent time on loan with Milton Keynes Don, Northampton Town, and Motherwell. Ariyibi joined Motherwell on loan in January and made 18 appearances while scoring 2 goals and adding 5 assists.

He is a former United States Men’s National Team youth international, having made 1 appearance for the U-20s and 4 for the U-23s. He is also eligible to play for Nigeria.

Is this a good move for Ariyibi?
