According to Rob Dawson of ESPN FC, United States Men’s National Team right back Matthew Olosunde will be leaving Manchester United. Dawson reports that the 21-year-old, whose contract expires on July 1, “is keen to continue his career in Europe -- preferably in England -- rather than return to the [United States].”
He joined Manchester United from the New York Red Bulls academy in 2016. Olosunde never appeared for United’s senior team, but was an integral member of the club’s U-23 side. However, he struggled with injuries this season and therefore only appeared in 5 matches.
Olosunde was linked with a loan move to the Red Bulls last summer, but ultimately remained with the Red Devils. At the international level, he has been a member of the U.S. U-17, U-23, and senior national team. Olosunde’s USMNT debut came as a substitute in a 3-0 friendly victory against Bolivia on May 29, 2018.
What should Olosunde’s next move be?
