According to ESPNFC’s Jeff Carlisle, Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven have submitted a second bid for United States U-20 defender Chris Gloster. While the size of the bid is unclear, Carlisle writes that it was larger than the “previous offer that was made at the end of June.” Gloster was an integral part of the U.S. U-20 side that advanced to the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup quarterfinals.

Last season, he made 16 appearances for Hannover II in the German Regionalliga Nord (4th division). He has yet to make an appearance for Hannover’s senior team, but could be in line for playing time if he were to remain with the club. Hannover will spend the upcoming season in the 2. Bundesliga after finishing 17th in the 18-team Bundesliga.

PSV finished 2nd in the Eredivisie during the 2018-2019 season and had the league’s best defensive record, conceding just 26 goals. The Dutch giants have an excellent chance to advance to this season’s UEFA Champions League Group stage, but must first win in the qualifying rounds. The team will face FC Basel in the 2nd qualifying round.

If Gloster were to join PSV, he would be competing to be the starting left back against Valencia loanee Toni Lato (21-years-old) and the newly signed Olivier Boscagli (21-year-old).
