Shaq Moore will remain in Spain’s Segunda Division next season. The 22-year-old right back has secured a transfer from Levante to CD Tenerife. The terms were not disclosed, but the deal includes a buyback option for Levante as well as a sell-on fee should Moore move elsewhere from Tenerife.
Shaq Moore had 6 total appearances for Levante in his two seasons for the club. Last fall, he was loaned to 2nd division team Reus Deportiu, but he returned to Levante due to Reus not paying his wages for several weeks. Reus was eventually disqualified from La Segunda because of financial issues.
Moore joins a Tenerife side that finished 16th in the Segunda division last season. With this move, hopefully Moore is in a better financial position and will have the ability to compete for consistent playing time on their back line. He is hoping that will get him back into the national team picture. He made his debut with the United States Men’s National Team in June 2018 against Ireland and had 5 total caps in 2018. He has yet to feature for the USMNT this year. With new coach Gregg Berhalter in charge and the team set to begin CONCACAF Nations League this fall, Shaq Moore is hoping to show that he can be a dependable option on the international level at right back.
