Cameron Carter-Vickers could be on the move during this international break. SBI Soccer is citing several European media reports that Tottenham Hotspur is hoping to secure a deal for Swansea City’s Joe Rodon, and Carter-Vickers could be included in the deal.

Spurs has tried to lure Joe Rodon to North London, and they have offered Carter-Vickers and $9 million in exchange to the Welsh club.

Carter-Vickers, the 22-year-old United States Men’s National Team centerback, has aimed to try and win a spot at Spurs during the preseason. He appeared 4 times for Spurs during the preseason, but has yet to be on the matchday roster for any of the Premier League matches so far this season. He has only appeared on the bench once for Spurs, during Europa League qualifying on September 17th. He did not enter the match against Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Carter-Vickers arrived at Tottenham to join their academy, but since he’s been elevated to the professional ranks, his career has been mainly a series of loans to other clubs. He was at Sheffield United for the 2017-18 season and Ipswich Town in 2018 before heading to Swansea City the back half of the 2018-2019 season. He was at Stoke City for the first half of last season before finishing the season on loan at Luton Town.

However, it was at Swansea where Carter-Vickers received the most playing time, appearing over 30 times for the first team. A return to the Liberty Stadium could be a boost to his career and offer him the chance for considerable playing time as Swansea attempt to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Do you think Carter-Vickers would benefit from a return to the EFL Championship and a familiar club? Or, do you hope he rides it out at Spurs? Hit the comments and discuss.
