DeAndre Yedlin could be the next United States Men’s National Team player to return home. CBS’ Roger Gonzalez is reporting that multiple MLS teams are coveting the 27-year-old right back to land him in a free transfer from Newcastle.

Yedlin has been with Newcastle since 2016, when he moved there after a very short stint with Tottenham Hotspur that included a loan to Sunderland. He had over 100 appearances for Newcastle, but it appears he has fallen out of favor with manager Steve Bruce, and MLS teams are hoping they can be the team to give DeAndre Yedlin a fresh start.
Roger Gonzalez also reports that staying in Europe is an option for DeAndre Yedlin, but the push is coming from MLS clubs. Yedlin is under contract with Newcastle until next summer, but the team could loan him out or buy out his contract so he could sign with any team he wanted.
The transfer window for the Premier League ends on October 5th, so we will see if DeAndre Yedlin will leave St. James’ Park before then for MLS or if he will stay on the European side of the pond.
