Ricardo Pepi has been on fire as of late. The 18-year-old forward has become a star in 2021, both for FC Dallas and the United States Men’s National Team. During this World Cup qualifying, he is tied with Panama’s Rolando Blackburn for the Concacaf goalscoring lead with 3 goals so far. He’s also 10th on the MLS Golden Boot list with 13 goals during the season.

The hype train surrounding Pepi has fueled speculation surrounding his future, with several teams interested in signing him during the upcoming January transfer window. There are even reports that Pepi has agreed to personal terms with Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, which has only led others to join the race for the 18-year-old star. Liverpool FC, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Genoa, Ajax, and the aforementioned Wolfsburg are all reportedly vying to ink the teenager’s signature. There’s also the option of staying at FC Dallas. The MLS club wants a huge transfer fee if they’re going to let Pepi, who has turned in a transfer request, leave in the offseason.

Most fans of the USMNT want Ricardo Pepi to go somewhere that will give him the opportunity to develop and play regularly. Teams like Dortmund and Ajax are known for developing young players and giving them opportunities to play. There are teams like Manchester United or Liverpool, who would likely loan out Pepi to give him the playing time and development he needs to grow his game. Of course, there’s always the chance that Pepi goes to a team that doesn’t give him the growth opportunities he needs to improve nor the chance to play regularly.

So, we ask you: where is the best destination for Ricardo Pepi in the January transfer window?
