The roster for the United States U-20 team that is going to Spain for three friendlies has been announced. Tab Ramos has handpicked a team that includes eight European-based players.
The most notable names on the team are Cameron Carter-Vickers and Dembakwi Yomba, who are getting their first U-20 call-ups. Carter-Vickers is a dual-national from the Tottenham Hotspur academy and has already been called up to the U.S. U-23's, while Yomba is with Atletico Madrid. Emerson Hyndman also makes the squad, and will play his first matches with the U.S. U-20s this year.
Luis Martir is on this team, which will make for an interesting time at Chivas Guadalajara. Chivas doesn't allow players to play for any country other than Mexico. With him accepting a U.S. call, Chivas may release him.
The U.S. will meet in Spain on Sunday and play their first match against the Russia U-21s on Wednesday. Three days later, they will play Ireland's U-21s and thenf inish things on November 18 against Canada's U-20s.
There is some confusion about the forwards. Amando Moreno was listed on U.S. Soccer's roster, but the LA Galaxy say that Bradford Jamieson IV made the team and not Moreno. Exactly who is on the roster -- it could be both -- is unclear.
