USA vs. Mexico, U-20 CONCACAF Championship live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch

Old foes meet at the youth level.

CONCACAF’s most bitter rivalry (I may be biased) resumes today when the USA take on Mexico in the first match of the U-20 CONCACAF Championship Classification Stage. The three-team group pits the Yanks and El Tri against El Salvador in a round robin format with the top two finishers of the group earning a berth into the World Cup.

Mexico topped their opening round group with a perfect 3-0 record and a flawless nine goals scored, zero conceded scoring record. Meanwhile, the U.S. lost their opening group match to Panama (who played most of the match with 10 men), but recovered with two four-goal performances to advance to this stage as their group’s runner-up.

If they did odds in Vegas for CONCACAF youth tournaments (maybe they do, I’m too lazy to look) they’d probably be in heavy favor of Mexico’s for this match. But, that’s why the game is played on the field and not on paper, as they say. The Baby Yanks have individual talent and will know they are underdogs going in, hopefully that’s enough motivation to put in an inspired performance.
