Today, United States U-23 head coach Jason Kreis named a 24-man roster that will take part in a training camp September 1-10 in Chula Vista, California. The camp will culminate with a friendly against Japan on September 9th. This is just the latest training camp for the U-23 as they seek to qualify for their first Olympics since 2008.
CONCACAF recently announced that Olympic qualifying would take place March 20-April 1 in Guadalajara, Mexico, where two teams will qualify for the games in Tokyo, Japan next summer. Kreis is using the training camps to evaluate the talent, including some that have senior national team experience, that could be available when the qualification tournament begins.
