BREAKING NEWS: Sydney Leroux and Dom Dwyer are dating.
Honestly, I don't know why this isn't on the front page of every newspaper in the country. It should lead all national news online. It should be the first story on every news show around the country.
Let's get a couple things out of the way first.
1) They are ridiculously good looking
2) Good for them and I hope they are happy
Now let's get to what's really important here: which country will their potential children play for?
Yes, they apparently just started dating and the idea of children is way out in the future, but we need to sort this out. One is a United States international and a great striker, but she was born in Canada and her children would be eligible to play for the Canucks. The other is from England and his children will be eligible to play for the Three Lions.
Leroux is also an American citizen so her children can play for the U.S., while Dwyer said he would be open to playing for the Yanks if and when he gets citizenship, so that's on the table too. But there is too much uncertainty here so:
Dear President Obama and any future presidents,
Please call Sydney and Dom at your earliest convenience and appeal for them to push their children to play for the U.S. Our 2034/35 World Cup hopes depend on it.
