FOX releases Women's World Cup broadcast schedule

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

FOX has made it clear for a few years now that they are committed to soccer and the 2015 Women's World Cup in particular. On Tuesday, they released their broadcast schedule for the tournament and it's consistent with everything they've been doing. They're going all-in.

In addition to televising every match of the tournament, which they had already committed to, FOX is going to show 16 matches on their over-the-air broadcast network. Five of those will be in primetime and a semifinal, the third place match and final will all be on Big FOX.

The United States' first match, on June 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET against Australia, will be shown on Fox Sports 1. Their second match of the tournament -- not to mention undoubtedly their biggest group stage match -- will be against Sweden at 8 p.m. ET on June 12 and broadcast on FOX. Finally, the U.S. will close out the group stage against Nigeria at 8 p.m. ET on June 16 in another match on FOX.

Every round of 16 match will be shown on Fox Sports 1 so no matter where the U.S. finishes in their group, that's what channel their first knockout stage contest will be on. The quarterfinals are split between FOX and Fox Sports 1 so the Americans, if they make it that far, could be on either. The semifinals are also split between the two, while the final is on FOX.
