According to the Washington Post’s Steven Goff, the United States Women’s National Team is attempting to arrange a friendly at Audi Field in Washington, DC in November. The match at Audi Field would be a part of a post-World Cup tour for the USWNT.
Goff mentions in his report that U.S. Soccer plans to schedule matches for the USWNT during the three FIFA windows in the months after the Women’s World Cup, set to begin June 7th. This summer, the USWNT will head to France, looking to repeat as Women’s World Cup Champions.
A match at Audi Field in November would mark the USWNT’s first appearance at the stadium, home to D.C. United, since it opened last year. The USMNT will play Jamaica in a friendly there on June 5th as a warmup for the Gold Cup. The USWNT’s last game in DC took place at RFK Stadium in March 2017, a 3-0 loss to France in the SheBelieves Cup.
