The United States is ready for their World Cup round of 16 clash against Belgium. And they are ready without Kyle Beckerman.
Jurgen Klinsmann has pulled a bit of a surprise.in dropping Beckerman from the holding midfield role, a place he has excelled. Instead, Klinsmann is going with Geoff Cameron in the spot, who has only played as a central defender in this tournament, but he has played midfield before and gives the U.S. a more physical player in the middle. He also has fresher legs, having not played in the Americans' loss to Germany on Thursday.
Jozy Altidore is not in the starting lineup. He has been made available to play, but fresh off of his hamstring injury two weeks ago is not ready to go from the beginning, if at all.
For Belgium, Vincent Kompany is in the team after battling a groin injury. He was a doubt, as was Marouane Fellaini, but both have proven fit enough to play today.
USA: Howard, Gonzalez, Bradley, Besler, Beasley, Dempsey, Bedoya, Jones, Zusi, Cameron, Johnson
Belgium: Courtois, Alderweireld, Van Buyten, Kompany, Vertonghen, Witsel, Fellaini, De Bruyne, Mertens, Origi, Hazard
The U.S. is playing for a spot in the quarterfinals. LET'S GO.
