If you wanted to hear Andres Cantor call the next two World Cups, you're in luck. NBC Deportes announced that they have signed the play-by-play man to a new contract that will see him call the 2018 and 2022 World Cups for Telemundo in the United States.
In addition to Cantor's World Cup work, he will also call the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2017 Confederations Cup. The World Cup is the big coup, though.
Some people have expressed trepidation at FOX taking over the English-language World Cup broadcast rights in 2018. For those of you who do not like the network's presentation of soccer, and want to watch in English, then you're just out of luck. You'll just have to deal with it because they're the only option. But if you're willing to make the switch to Spanish, you will have one of the best announcers ever on the call.
Just listen in to his call from Landon Donovan's memorable winner against Algeria.
And, of course, every U.S. goal from the Women's World Cup final.
If you want more of this, and it's hard to imagine anyone not, you'll get it in 2018 and 2022 from the great Andres Cantor.
