Day 8 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup is here, and with it brings what could be one of the great group stage matchups in the tournament. After Cristiano Ronaldo scored another goal yesterday for Portugal, the pressure is now on Lionel Messi to do the same for Argentina. Day 8 should be a good one.
First up, Denmark looks to possibly lock up a trip to the 2nd round, while Australia will look to get itself back into contention with a win. This may be one of those matches that starts out slow and then opens up later on.
The real catch of the day is the second match, France taking on Peru. Both teams have great offensive potential, and Peru needs a win to stay in contention. There’s star power on both sides, so this should be a good one.
The final match of the day is the one that may have the most eyeballs, as Lionel Messi and Argentina take on Luka Modric and Croatia. Will Messi finally get his name in the score column? Will Croatia hold or even shock the 2014 World Cup finalists? The pressure really is on La Albiceleste to get the win here.
