Episode 3 of the Stars and Stripes FC Podcast is here! On this episode, we recap the wild Round of 16 action that has taken place thus far in the 2018 World Cup, including the penalty shootouts yesterday between Spain and Russia along with Croatia and Denmark. We begin recording just moments after the end of the Croatia-Denmark match, so we had to begin with those matches!
The episode then shift gears to USMNT news, including American interim manager Dave Sarachan’s contract extension to the end of the year. We discuss whether it’s a good or bad idea that he got an extension and what it could mean for the search for a permanent hire. We end by catching up with the USWNT and the NWSL as the national team prepares for the Tournament of Nations.
